On a warm September afternoon, Alex and Callie tied the knot on a beautiful horse farm in Rocky Point, North Carolina. This farm belongs to Callie’s family. With only 45 of their closest family and friends, their wedding felt intimate and full of love. Horses grazed peacefully in the background as they exchanged vows. Every moment of the day felt like a page from a love story.

As a wedding photographer, I live for days like this. The focus was on love, family, and those little moments that make weddings unforgettable. From dreamy golden hour portraits to laughter-filled toasts, Alex and Callie’s wedding was pure magic.

 

A Southern Wedding on a Family Horse Farm

When Callie and Alex first reached out to me, they had two main priorities—photography and food. They wanted their love story captured in a way that felt authentic, romantic, and timeless and they wanted a relaxed and casual vibe. That’s exactly what we achieved.

Their venue was perfect. The rolling pastures and grazing horses made a stunning backdrop. The warm September sun added to the charm. Outdoor weddings have a special kind of romance, and nature played a big role in their day.

As a photographer, I love light, bright, and airy aesthetics. The soft natural light that filled the day was breathtaking. It highlighted every detail—from Callie’s flowing dress to the gentle movements of the horses. It was a dream scene for a Horse Farm Wedding in Rocky Point, North Carolina.

The Intimate Ceremony — Horses & Heartfelt Vows

The ceremony took place right in front of the pasture. Horses meandered behind the altar as if they were part of the celebration. A live guitarist played soft, melodic tunes, adding to the intimate atmosphere.

One of my favorite moments was when Callie walked down the aisle with her father. Alex wiped away a tear as he saw her. These raw, emotional moments are what I love capturing most. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows as the sounds of nature and guitar music filled the air. It was simple, meaningful, and perfect.

After their first kiss, guests cheered. Even the horses in the background seemed to nod in approval. It felt like a fairytale.

Southern Comfort Meets Romantic Elegance — The Reception

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed classic Southern comfort food—BBQ, hushpuppies, fried chicken, and all the fixings. The delicious aroma had everyone excited to eat! I love when couples personalize their wedding, and Callie and Alex did just that with their family-style buffet.

Toasts were filled with love and laughter. Callie’s father shared touching stories that brought tears to many eyes. Her sister’s speech added a sentimental touch, making everyone both laugh and cry.

As the sun set, string lights illuminated the reception. Some guests danced under the stars, while others gathered by the fire pit or played cornhole. The evening felt like a cozy summer night, just as Callie and Alex had envisioned.

Golden Hour Portraits — Light, Airy, & Dreamy

One of my favorite moments of the day was golden hour portraits. The soft, golden light during this time is always magical.

We found a quiet spot near the pasture. The setting sun painted the sky in soft pastels. Horses grazed in the background, adding to the dreamy atmosphere of their Horse Farm Wedding in Rocky Point, North Carolina.

Alex and Callie laughed, danced, and embraced, completely wrapped up in the joy of the day.

Later, Callie later shared sneak peek photos on Facebook and called the day “absolutely perfect”!  She said she wouldn’t change a thing and that is the ultimate compliment! I love what I do!!
