5. THESE PHOTOGRAPHS AREN'T JUST FOR RIGHT NOW

They'll live on your walls and in albums. They'll become gifts for grandparents. They'll be pulled out years from now when your children want to remember what everyone looked like when they were little.

And eventually, their value won't come from how perfectly coordinated everyone's clothes were or whether every child smiled at exactly the same time.

I'll guide you when you need it and leave room for the moments that happen naturally.

Kids can be kids. You can laugh, move, cuddle, play, and simply be together. The goal isn't perfection. It's photographs that feel like your family—and an experience you actually enjoy having together.

If you're usually the one taking the pictures, your camera roll may be filled with the people you love—and surprisingly few photographs that prove you were right there loving them.

1. THEY'RE GROWING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU

The missing teeth. The toddler curls. The way your little one still reaches for your hand. The expressions you see every day and don't realize are changing until suddenly they have.

I look for those things.

Of course we'll create the beautiful family portrait where everyone is looking at the camera, but some of my favorite photographs are often the ones in between—the laugh, the hug, the look between you, the little pieces of who your family is right now.

Your family doesn't need to be perfect to be worth remembering.
