North Carolina Adventure Elopement Photographer
"Adventure Elopements, Your Way"
★★★★★ 5-Star Rated on Google • 13+ Years of Experience • Serving Wilmington & Coastal North Carolina • Available for Travel
Some weddings are meant for grand ballrooms.
Others are meant for a sailboat at sunset, a beautiful beach house filled with the people you love, a scenic drive through the mountains, champagne after your vows, or dinner beneath the stars.
Maybe yours includes a waterfall that's easy for everyone you love to reach. Maybe it's a slow morning by the water before saying your vows on the beach. Or maybe hiking three miles to a mountain overlook sounds absolutely perfect.
All of them count, because adventure is personal.
An adventure elopement isn't defined by how far you hike, how high you climb, or whether you consider yourselves “adventurous people.” Without the constraints of a traditional wedding timeline, you have the freedom to create a day around what you actually want to experience.
That's what I mean by Adventure Elopements, Your Way.
Intentionally Yours. Expertly Guided. Timelessly Photographed.
MORE THAN PHOTOGRAPHY
Every Bella Lumiere experience begins long before your wedding day — not because your day should be built around photographs, but because the choices you make can shape both how it feels and how you'll remember it.
Tell me how you want your wedding day to feel. We'll begin there.
I'll bring a photographer's eye to the details you shouldn't be expected to know: how the light changes throughout the day, how a location may photograph at different times, how much travel comfortably fits into your coverage, what weather could change, and where there may be opportunities you haven't considered.
I'll offer thoughtful guidance as you make those decisions, while keeping what matters most at the center: the two of you actually experiencing your wedding day.
Because your wedding isn't being created for the photographs. The photographs are being created from a wedding day you couldn't imagine experiencing any other way.
Explore Coastal NC
Explore THE MountainS
From the Carolina coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains, adventure looks different everywhere. The best place to begin is wherever feels most like you.
WHERE WILL YOUR STORY TAKE YOU?
coastal North Carolina
Salt air, open water, barrier islands, and miles of shoreline — proof that adventure doesn't need a mountaintop.
North Carolina MountainS
Blue Ridge views, quiet forests, waterfalls, and scenic drives — with as much or as little hiking as feels right for you.

This is our wedding day. And I wouldn't want it any other way.
Someday, the place you chose may look different. The people beside you will grow older. Details you thought you'd never forget will become harder to recall.
But your photographs will still be there.
They'll bring you back to the way your partner looked at you just before you said your vows. The wind coming off the water. The view you stopped for along a mountain road. Your mother's laugh. Your best friend's arms around you. The quiet moments you didn't realize I was photographing at all.
That's why the experience matters just as much as the photographs.
I don't want to create a wedding day around a collection of beautiful images. I want you to have a day you genuinely loved experiencing—and photographs that let you return to it for the rest of your lives.
These aren't simply photographs of what your wedding looked like. They're a record of what it felt like to live it.
They're the beginning of your family's history.
Years from now, I want you to open your gallery and remember more than how your wedding looked. I want you to remember the people who were there, the places you explored, the things that made you laugh, and exactly how it felt to realize:
Your Photographs Become Your Legacy
"The most beautiful photographs happen when you're fully present. Everything I do is designed to make sure you can be."

You'll never have to wonder what comes next because I'll thoughtfully guide you through every step.

Elopement Photography FAQs
We've never been professionally photographed before. Will you help us?
Absolutely.
Most of my couples aren't used to being in front of a camera, and you don't need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands.
One of the beautiful things about an elopement is that much of your day isn't spent posing for photographs at all. You'll be exchanging vows, exploring somewhere beautiful, sharing a meal, laughing with the people you love, or simply enjoying the experience together. I'll photograph those moments as they naturally unfold and step in with gentle direction when you need it.
And when it is time for portraits, I'll guide you in a way that feels comfortable and natural—so you can focus less on the camera and more on each other.
You don't need to know how to be photographed. You just need to be present for your wedding day.
We know we want to elope, but we have no idea where to start. Can you help?
Absolutely. In fact, you don't need to have much figured out at all.
We'll start with how you want your wedding day to feel. Maybe you already know you're drawn to the coast, the mountains, somewhere completely new—or maybe all you know is that you want something intimate, meaningful, and different from a traditional wedding day.
From there, I'll help you explore possibilities through a photographer's eye. We'll think about the scenery you love, who you'd like to include, accessibility, privacy, season, beautiful light, and the kinds of things you'd genuinely enjoy doing together.
Maybe that leads us to vows on a quiet stretch of coastline followed by a sail and dinner. Maybe it's a scenic mountain drive, a champagne picnic, and a beautiful overlook. Or maybe your version looks nothing like either of those.
You don't need to come to me with a plan. Bring me the beginning of your vision, and we'll figure out what your version of adventure could look like.
We don't want to hike for miles. Can we still have incredible scenery?
Absolutely. Adventure doesn't have to mean hiking boots and a mountaintop.
Some of the most beautiful coastal and mountain locations are surprisingly accessible. Your day could include a quiet beach, scenic overlook, winding mountain drive, garden, intimate estate, beautiful lodge, or an incredible viewpoint that requires little—or sometimes no—hiking at all.
And adventure isn't measured in miles. It might mean sailing after your vows, taking a scenic drive with the windows down, sharing dinner somewhere beautiful, exploring a new place together, or spending an unhurried afternoon with the people you love.
We'll consider locations and possibilities around the experience you want, your comfort level, accessibility needs, and the scenery you love.
Your elopement should feel like you—not someone else's definition of adventure.
How many photographs will we receive?
Every elopement is different, so I don't promise a specific number of photographs.
Your gallery is curated around your experience rather than an image quota. Some parts of your day may be filled with activity and hundreds of little moments, while others unfold more slowly.
You'll receive every beautiful, meaningful image that belongs in the story of your day. There isn't a predetermined maximum or a limit I'm trying to stay under.
My goal isn't to reach a number. It's to give you a complete, thoughtfully curated story of your elopement.
When will we receive our photographs?
You'll receive sneak peek images within 24–48 hours, so you can begin reliving your experience almost immediately.
Your fully edited gallery is delivered within 4–6 weeks. Every photograph is individually edited and carefully reviewed to ensure your finished gallery tells the story of your celebration beautifully and cohesively from beginning to end.
Do you travel?
Absolutely.
I'm based in Wilmington, North Carolina and photograph elopements throughout the state and beyond—from the Carolina coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains and wherever your story takes us.
Whether you're dreaming of a quiet stretch of coastline, a mountain overlook, an intimate lodge, a weekend away, or somewhere completely different, I'm happy to travel for an experience that feels like yours.
And if you haven't chosen the exact location yet, that's okay. You don't need a destination figured out before you inquire.
Do you offer albums?
Yes.
Your photographs deserve to live somewhere more meaningful than a screen. I offer heirloom-quality albums designed to preserve the complete story of your elopement—from the people and places to the adventures and quiet little moments that made the experience yours.
Albums can be added after your elopement, giving you time to experience your finished gallery and choose the photographs you most want to see preserved in print.
Because some stories are meant to be held.
What happens after we inquire?
It starts with a conversation.
After you reach out, I'll personally respond so we can talk about what you're imagining. You don't need to have a location, timeline, or every detail figured out before we talk.
We'll start with the things that matter most—how you want your wedding day to feel, who you'd like to include, the places you're drawn to, and what you'd genuinely love to experience together.
Once you decide Bella Lumiere is the right fit and your date is reserved, we'll begin bringing those ideas into focus. I'll help you explore locations, think through activities and trusted vendors, consider beautiful light and timing, and create a photography timeline that gives you room to actually experience your day.
You bring me the beginning of your vision. I'll bring a photographer's eye to helping you turn it into a day you'll love experiencing—and photographs you'll love returning to.
Will you be the photographer on our elopement day?
Absolutely. I'll personally photograph your elopement.
From our first conversations through your wedding day, you'll be working directly with me. The person getting to know your vision, helping you think through the photographic details, and preparing for your experience is also the person behind the camera documenting it.
For elopements where a second photographer would meaningfully add to the storytelling, my husband, Matthew, photographs alongside me.
Whether it's just the two of you or you're celebrating with the people closest to you, you'll know exactly who is showing up to preserve your story.
How involved are you in planning our elopement?
Quite a bit—but always through the lens of your photography experience.
I'm not a wedding planner, but an Adventure Elopement Collection includes much more guidance than simply showing up with a camera.
I'll help you think through locations, beautiful light, timing, accessibility, the flow of your day, meaningful activities, trusted vendors, weather considerations, and the photography logistics that can make everything feel more intentional and less rushed.
What I won't do is plan or coordinate your wedding for you. For celebrations that need full-service planning, vendor management, rentals, décor, transportation, or day-of coordination, I'll happily recommend a trusted planner.
My role is to help you turn what you want your wedding to feel like into an experience we can beautifully photograph—while making sure it still feels entirely yours.
What happens if the weather doesn't cooperate?
We'll prepare for it.
When you're planning an outdoor elopement, weather is part of the experience—and a little flexibility can go a long way.
As we think through your locations and photography timeline, I'll consider seasonal weather patterns, light, shelter options, and how much flexibility we may want to build into the day. Depending on the forecast, that could mean adjusting the ceremony time, shifting locations, rearranging part of the experience, or simply waiting out a passing shower.
And sometimes, the weather you didn't plan for becomes part of what makes the day unforgettable—the dramatic sky rolling over the coast, fog settling into the mountains, or a little rain that leaves you with an entire beach to yourselves.
A little flexibility means we can work with whatever the day brings—and sometimes, the unexpected becomes part of what makes the story so beautiful.
Can our elopement include activities?
Absolutely—and I hope it does.
Your elopement doesn't have to be getting dressed, exchanging vows, taking portraits, and going to dinner. This is your wedding day. You get to actually experience it.
That might mean sailing after your ceremony, packing a beautiful picnic, exploring by boat, taking a scenic drive through the mountains, riding a gondola, gathering around a bonfire, having a private chef prepare dinner, or simply spending an unhurried afternoon somewhere beautiful.
And if you're including the people you love, the experience doesn't have to be just for the two of you. We can think about ways to make part of the day something you all get to experience together.
The experience isn't created for the photographs. The photographs tell the story of an incredible day you actually lived.
Can we elope somewhere you've never photographed before?
Absolutely. In fact, discovering somewhere new can be part of what makes your experience yours.
I don't believe your elopement should be limited to places I've photographed before. Once I understand what you're drawn to and how you want your day to feel, I can research locations and possibilities specifically with your experience in mind.
I'll consider things like accessibility, privacy, beautiful light, seasonal conditions, travel between locations, nearby experiences, and the photographic possibilities each place offers. It's not simply about finding somewhere beautiful—it's about finding somewhere that makes sense for the day you actually want to have.
And when we're exploring somewhere new, I do the research beforehand so we're not arriving on your wedding day and figuring everything out as we go.
You don't have to choose from a list of places I've already been. Your elopement gives us the freedom to find somewhere that feels like you.
Can we include family and friends in our elopement?
Absolutely. An elopement can be intimate without being just the two of you.
Some couples choose to exchange vows privately. Others bring their parents, children, siblings, or a small group of the people they couldn't imagine the day without.
You might spend the entire experience together, or create space for both—private time for the two of you and meaningful time celebrating with the people you love.
There isn't one right way to do this. We'll think about who matters most to you and how you want them to be part of the experience.
Choosing an elopement doesn't mean choosing between an intentional wedding day and the people you love. You get to decide what belonging there looks like.
Maybe your version of adventure doesn't fit neatly into one of the collections above. If you're imagining additional coverage, multiple locations, a destination farther from home, or something entirely your own, let's talk about what that could look like and create coverage around the experience you actually want to have.
SHARE YOUR VISION
1. You'll have guidance without losing the freedom.
You don't need to arrive with every detail figured out. I'll help you think through locations, beautiful light, timing, photography logistics, meaningful activities, and the flow of your experience—so you can make informed choices while keeping the experience completely your own.
2. You'll have room to actually experience your day.
Your elopement isn't a photoshoot with vows somewhere in the middle. We'll create a photography timeline with space to explore, celebrate, laugh, linger, and be with the people you love—while I preserve what unfolds along the way.
3. You'll feel comfortable in front of the camera.
You don't need modeling experience or perfectly practiced poses. When you need direction, I'll give it. When a moment is unfolding beautifully on its own, I'll give it room. The result is imagery that feels natural, genuine, and unmistakably you.
4. Your photographs will feel like your memories.
I believe beautiful photographs should do more than show you where you went and what you wore. They should bring back the wind off the water, your mother's laugh, the way your partner looked at you, and all the little moments you didn't realize I was photographing.
5. Your memories will be protected with care.
Your wedding day happens once, and I treat what I photograph accordingly. Professional dual-card cameras, multiple backups, insured equipment, and dependable systems help protect your photographs from the moment they're captured through the delivery of your finished gallery.
"Luxury isn't about having more. It's about feeling completely cared for."
AN EXPERIENCE THAT FEELS LIKE YOU
From the places you're drawn to and the things you'd love to experience, to beautiful light, thoughtful timing, and the way it all comes together, I'll help you see possibilities you may not have known were there.
Because your elopement shouldn't be designed around photographs. Your photographs should tell the story of an incredible day you actually experienced.
YOUR DAY FIRST.
