Invitation Suites by Theresa Jatko Designs

At Bella Lumiere Photography, we have the pleasure of working with some really awesome vendors! Recently, we photographed several stunning, custom wedding invitation suites made and designed by Theresa Jatko of Theresa Jatko Designs.

Theresa Jatko explains, “It all started when I got engaged to my best friend, Derek, in 2001. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t find the exact look I wanted for my wedding invitations. I looked everywhere! After weeks of searching, I told my (then) fiancé, you know what? I can do this!” And that’s how Theresa Jatko Designs was born, in 2003!

Matthew and I sat with Theresa in her office talking, laughing, and telling stories around her table. It was like we’d known her all of our lives… like best friends! We looked through and chose several sample wedding invitations to photograph. She has at least a hundred of more. And each one was so unique.

While designing each invitation suite, Theresa built a relationship with each couple. Each invitation suite represented a real couple that she had gotten to know personally. She recalled the names of each couple just by looking at the wedding invitation. Story after story… she told us how her couples met. And she shared with us her process of custom designing their perfect wedding invitation suite with them. I remember one story in particular about a sweet a couple who had to planned a destination wedding to the Bahamas. Sadly, they had to postpone it due to a hurricane making landfall there just a few days before their date.
