Meet Matthew and Riley-Payton

HELLO!! And welcome to our blog!  We are Matthew + Riley-Payton, Wilmington, NC wedding and portrait photographers.  We proudly serve the beautiful states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. Most of our time is spent in the areas of Wilmington, Southport, Raleigh, Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, Florence, Columbia, and Charleston.  We also make ourselves available to photograph destination weddings anywhere in the world.  Why?  Because we LOVE to travel!!

Matthew and I produce timeless, romantic, vibrant images that tell our wedding couple’s personal love story. How do we do this? First of all, we approach each wedding with a blend of two styles: photojournalistic and editorial. Our photojournalistic side documents the wedding day through candid shots while focusing on emotion. Our editorial side poses our couples in a stylish ways for a magazine quality look. Because our couples are comfortable in front of the camera, they naturally let their romantic, playful side shine though. This is what gives our photographs their timeless and romantic appeal.

Next, we don’t believe in heavily editing our wedding photographs. As Wilmington, NC wedding photographers, we surrounded by gorgeous scenery.  Our scenery is full of rich, vibrant colors.  We edit in a way that preserves the richness of those colors. Our outdoor wedding portraits use natural light and incorporate the beauty and color of each wedding location.  The “pop” of color compliments the timeless, romantic look of our style.

 

Wedding Album Design

Finally, Matthew and I personally design every couple’s wedding album together. It’s a labor of love that begins with the experience our couples have while being photographed. While photographing a wedding, we focus on capturing details that preserve memories and emotion. Every page is tells a part of our couples overall love story. So, it’s only natural that we would use a softer editing style that won’t compete with the romantic feel of their photographs.

So, as you can see, wedding photography is near and dear to our hearts. We are thankful for the ability to work together as a husband and wife team!  It’s such a blessing to be able to spend time together doing what we love. We cherish the opportunity to meet new couples.  And we are thankful that many of them turn into great friendships. Our passion is telling love stories through our talent and we would LOVE the opportunity to tell yours.
