The proposal was set for Fort Fisher Historic State Park, a breathtaking coastal location with scenic views, lush trees, and ocean breezes—an ideal spot for a romantic moment. Andrew decided to tell Lauren that they were doing a birthday photoshoot to celebrate her special day (which was the week before). This ensured she would be dressed up and photo-ready without any suspicion!

 

The Moment of the Proposal

On the day of the proposal, Andrew and Lauren arrived at Fort Fisher in coordinating outfits, looking picture-perfect. What Lauren didn’t know was that Andrew had been hiding a secret—not just the surprise, but also the engagement ring… stuffed in his sock!

Because he was eager to pop the question as soon as possible (and understandably didn’t want to lose the ring), we structured the session so he could propose early on. To set up the perfect moment, we had them stand back-to-back. Then, on cue, we asked Lauren to take a few steps forward. This gave Andrew the time he needed to pull the ring from his sock and get down on one knee.

As soon as Lauren turned around, her reaction was priceless. She shrieked with excitement, jumped up and down, and was completely overwhelmed with joy. The air was electric with love and surprise.
